MOSCOW, November 30 (R-Sport) - Ex-Edmonton Oilers forward Robert Nilsson has left Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod on mutual consent, the KHL team announced Friday.
The Canadian-born Swedish left wing spent a year with the Volga club, racking up 44 points in 65 games.
This season the 27 year old scored five goals and seven assists, helping Torpedo to seventh in the Western Conference, on track to make the playoffs.
Nilsson won the Gagarin Cup with Salavat Yulaev Ufa in 2011, and boasts a total of 27 goals and 59 assists in three KHL seasons.
Before coming to Russia in 2010, Nilsson spent four seasons with Edmonton and one with the New York Islanders in the NHL.
