MOSCOW, February 13 (R-Sport) - Anzhi striker Samuel Eto'o is fit and likely to play in their Europa League encounter with Hannover 96 on Thursday, Anzhi manager Guus Hiddink said Wednesday.
Three-time Champions League winner Eto'o had reportedly been struggling with a back injury.
"Samuel Eto'o took part in a full training session yesterday and I think he's ready to play tomorrow," Hiddink said in comments quoted by Anzhi's Twitter feed.
In an interview with the Cameroonian media earlier this week, Eto'o reportedly said the Cameroonian Football Federation wanted to kill him, suggesting large sums of money were involved.
Anzhi are still looking to sign a defender to replace Christopher Samba, who left for Queens Park Rangers last month.
Anzhi play Hannover on the artifical turf of Moscow's Luzhniki stadium on Thursday, with the return leg of the last 32 tie to be held in Germany a week later.
