MOSCOW, November 21 (R-Sport) - The Brooklyn Nets’ young team needs time to gel together on court before success comes, billionaire owner Mikhail Prokhorov said Wednesday.
The Nets are 6-3 for the season following Tuesday’s 95-90 home defeat to the Los Angeles Lakers, which ended a five-game winning streak.
“We’ve got an absolutely new team, very few old players, so of course you need time to play in together,” Prokhorov told Russian radio station Echo Moskvy.
Prokhorov bought a majority stake in the team in 2008 and relocated the Nets from New Jersey to Brooklyn in time for this season.
